Walking in the steps of mankind

The Poussins and their two children were in South Africa to promote their book “Africa Trek: In the Footsteps of Mankind” (published by Jacana) about their three-year trip, made possible by the hospitality of 1 200 families in eleven countries. Their story has been reproduced into English by BBC Travel Channel and Hi-Tec specifically for the long-awaited reunion between the Poussins and Africa. Although they set out without any sponsors, a Nelspruit retailer sent them new pairs of Hi-Tec shoes whenever they required new footwear. They started wearing the brand after a Karroo farmer advised them to switch from wearing athletic footwear when Sonia complained of sore feet.
